You’ve finished your single, EP, or album. Congratulations! Everything is mixed down, mastered, and you’re really happy with how the project turned out. So, now you’re ready for the next step but have no idea how to go about it. It’s ok. That's why I'm here. Here's how I break everything down...

The music making process is done, so now what?

STEP 1 = BUILDING A‍‍‍ STORY

This first step is crucial. Imagine walking into a sponsor's office like Nike, H&M, etc. or an A&R's office at a major label and demanding to close a deal. They say, "Great! Let's take a look at your numbers." You pull up your YouTube, Spotify, and Soundcloud stats and show them your whopping 1500 plays across ‍‍‍each platform. They'll probably kick you out of the building and block you from ever contacting them again.

Now, imagine you are in that same scenario, but this time when you pull up your stats you say, "I have 250,000 views on my latest music video on YouTube, 175,000 plays on Soundcloud, and over 100,000 streams on Spotify! I've also been featured on these 10 blogs and have been placed on 2 major Spotify playlists."

You've now given them a reason to want to build a relationship with you. You've shown them social proof by building a strong online story.

During this step my team and I set up multiple ad campaigns across various audience network and ad platforms to push a mass, targeted audience towards your YouTube, Spotify, and Soundcloud links. This will help build your numbers, create attention, and create listeners. Soon after we begin shopping your music for blog and media placement to help build your credibility and awareness.

STEP 2 = AUDIENCE BUILDING

Once the foundation of your online story is laid out we shift our focus on fan conversion. Listeners are great, but you want fans to help you sustain a long and happy career in the music industry.

During this step we help you develop great social media habits for long term growth, create super targeted campaigns for fan conversion, and implement strategies that we've developed to create a higher audience engagement. The most important thing about creating fans is staying active with your digital and live presence in order to create constant interaction between you and your audience.

By staying top-of-mind with your audience you build trust, which leads to loyalty, and then leads to long term and return fans/customers. Remember, one loyal fan can bring in more revenue and awareness than any one new fan.

STEP 3 = RINSE & REPEAT

Marketing should never be seen as a one and done process. What creates strong fan bases and loyal customers are consistency in content output and brand building. These strategies are meant for long term growth in order to prepare you to run that marathon, NOT a 100 meter sprint.

There is no switch that any marketer can turn on and make you famous overnight. The key thing you have to remember is that amidst all of these steps the core of everything is YOU. You are the product. The more dialed-in and impressive the product is, the better the marketing will work for you.
